Gemma orchestrated the fake murder to show Jenson that Warren was only using him for Sebastian Blake's bone marrow transplant. When Jenson failed to appear at the hospital, Warren shot him, believing he was no longer useful. However, the victim was actually Gemma's henchman Billy, not Jenson.
