Hollyoaks Favourite Joel Dexter Returns After Months Away

Hollyoaks viewers will see a familiar face return to screens next week as Joel Dexter, played by Rory Douglas-Speed, makes his first appearance since June. The character has been absent following his arrest for the murder of Tommy Odenkirk.

In upcoming episodes, Tony Hutchinson, portrayed by Nick Pickard, is left disheartened after being demoted to kitchen porter in prison. As inmates turn against him, he is relieved to bump into Joel, who is also behind bars.

Earlier this year, Joel was manipulated by fake therapist Tommy Odenkirk into believing he had killed his brother Billy. After discovering the truth, a drug-fuelled Joel confronted Tommy and woke up to find him dead. Persuaded by Leela Lomax, Joel confessed and was arrested by corrupt DI Banks.

Meanwhile, Leela becomes concerned when Ste Hay fails to return home for his son's birthday. Lucas Hay claims Ste attacked him and shows fake messages, leading Leela and Dillon to believe Ste has left for good.

Fans will also remember that Cleo McQueen, played by Nadine Mulkerrin, is expecting a baby after a fling with Joel during a rocky period in his marriage to Leela.
