Hollyoaks Exodus: Harry French Quits After Six Months, Alex Fletcher Also Departs

Hollyoaks star Harry French has quit the E4 soap after just six months on the show. French, who played the villainous Sully, a sexual predator and corrupt police officer, has already finished filming his final scenes. His character debuted in October 2024 as part of the soap's 30th anniversary celebrations and also appeared in Hollyoaks Later.

A source told The Sun: "Sully's a truly evil villain and there will be explosive consequences as he pays for what he's done. Harry knew going into the show that there would be an end to Sully but he's loved his time there and is looking forward to doing new things."

In a separate departure, soap legend Alex Fletcher, 49, has also decided to leave Hollyoaks. Fletcher, who plays Diane Hutchinson, told bosses of her decision towards the end of last year and will film her emotional exit in the coming months. Her departure will mark the end of one of soap's most popular couples, with rumours suggesting her character could be killed off.

A Hollyoaks source said: "Alex is one of the show's most popular characters both on and off screen – everyone just adores her. She has been at the heart of Hollyoaks alongside Nick for more than a decade and bosses are gutted she's leaving. But they are doing everything they can to come up with a memorable and fitting exit for her much-loved character."

Fletcher, originally from Liverpool, shot to fame as a teenager playing Jacqui Dixon in Brookside.
