Abigail Matthews' (Brooke Vincent) grooming of Dee Dee Hutchinson (Chloe Atkinson) escalates in Hollyoaks next week as she plans to go on a date with the student.
The high school teacher, as viewers know, has been targeting Dee Dee – who she first encountered at a rehab facility a few months ago – for quite some time now. Dee Dee has come to see newcomer Abigail, who recently landed a job at the local high school, as someone she can confide in, unaware of the teacher's true intentions.
Dee Dee's feelings revealed
The situation accelerated rather dramatically last month when Dee Dee discovered that Abigail had manipulated Maddox Keane (Sam Meyer) into giving her space. Determined to get answers, Dee confronted Abigail, who responded by asking the teen if she has feelings for her. Dee Dee admitted that she does.
And next week, things get worse.
Plans for a first date
With Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) concerned about his daughter's grades, Abigail assures him that she will give Dee Dee extra tuition in a bid to improve them. During the tuition session, Abigail switches the focus to discuss her and Dee Dee's first date as they plan to go to a play in Manchester on the evening in question.
Determined to be careful, Abigail doesn't want to risk picking up Dee Dee and thus, in a bid to make it Manchester, Dee Dee steals from Tony.
Family fears and questions
The question is: will the night out lead to the truth about what Abigail is up to coming out?
That remains to be seen but the subsequent episode sees the Hutchinson clan worried sick that Dee Dee has relapsed, with Ant (Brook Debio) lashing out when he finds out his sister has been drinking. Dee Dee, however, lashes out in return, leaving the whole family at odds.
Later, Dee Dee quizzes Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) on how she knew she was attracted to women.
