Netflix has released a new thriller series, His and Hers, based on the bestselling book by Alice Feeney. The six-part story begins with the discovery of a young woman's body in a small town in Georgia, and follows two investigators with their own agendas: county sheriff Jack Harper and reclusive news anchor Anna Andrews. As the series unfolds, the connection between them, and the truth behind the crime, comes to light.
The lead roles are played by Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal. Thompson first gained recognition in the films Dear White People and Selma, before starring in the Creed franchise alongside Michael B Jordan. She later played Valkyrie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, most notably in the last two Thor films. Her other credits include Annihilation, Men in Black: International and Passing, with her most recent appearance in the period drama Hedda.
Bernthal is known for his Marvel role as Frank Castle, the Punisher, in several television series, and is set to reprise the character in a Disney+ special and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He came to wider attention as Shane Walsh in The Walking Dead, and has since featured in Show Me a Hero, We Own This City, American Gigolo and The Bear. His film work includes Sicario, The Wolf of Wall Street, Wind River, Baby Driver, Widows and both The Accountant films, with a role in Christopher Nolan's upcoming adaptation of The Odyssey.
The supporting cast includes Pablo Schreiber, known for playing Master Chief in Halo and an Emmy-nominated guest role in Orange is the New Black, who portrays Richard. Crystal Fox, a television veteran from In the Heat of the Night and The Haves and the Have Nots, plays Anna's mother Alice. Sunita Mani, who appeared in Mr Robot, GLOW, The Good Place and the films The Roses and Death of a Unicorn, takes on the part of Jack's partner Priya.
Rebecca Rittenhouse, who plays replacement news anchor Lexy, has appeared in The Mindy Project, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Maggie and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Marin Ireland, seen in The Umbrella Academy and Dope Thief, portrays Jack's sister Zoe.
