Heartbreak High Season 3: Who Turned On the Ride? Finale Twist Explained

Warning: This article contains major spoilers for Heartbreak High Season 3.

The final season of the hit Australian drama saw Amerie and her friends caught up in a criminal investigation after a prank at a funfair went horribly wrong. The trouble began when rival school St Bruno's stole the head of Hartley's mascot costume, prompting Amerie's crew to retaliate by stealing a sculpted bust and hiding it at the local carnival.

Their mission spiralled out of control when carnival manager Clancy caught them and tried to stop the prank. While chasing Malakai, the ride they were standing on mysteriously turned on, injuring both and leaving Clancy in a coma. At first, the group suspected a friend had secretly activated the ride, but the culprit remained elusive.

Suspicion shifted to Amerie's boyfriend Noah and his friend Sebastian after it emerged they had also been at the carnival, suspecting Amerie of cheating. However, dashcam footage from Sebastian's car proved their innocence and revealed a masked figure jumping over the fence and fleeing the scene. Amerie recognised the costume as belonging to Clancy's stepson Liam, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

But Liam was not the real culprit. It turned out Sasha had been present that night, furious after discovering a group chat titled 'no Sasha' that her friends had used to exclude her. She donned Liam's costume, hid in the control room, and turned on the ride to sabotage the prank, claiming she never intended to hurt anyone.

In the series finale, Sasha handed herself in to the police and was shown performing community service, bringing the dramatic plot twist to a close.
