Hassie Harrison Cast in Upcoming Baywatch Reboot Series

Hassie Harrison, the 35-year-old actress renowned for her role as Laramie on the hit series Yellowstone, has officially joined the cast of the highly anticipated Baywatch reboot. The new series is being developed by Fox and Fremantle, with production scheduled to commence in Los Angeles this spring. The show is set to premiere on Fox during the 2026–2027 television season.

Harrison's Role as Nat: A Complex Character

According to industry reports from Deadline, Harrison will portray a character named Nat, described as a foster kid who transforms into an Olympic athlete. In the series, Nat serves as an exemplary lifeguard and becomes a close friend to the protagonist, Hobie Buchannon, played by Stephen Amell. This casting adds significant star power to the reboot, which aims to revitalise the iconic franchise for a new generation.

Supporting Cast and Production Details

The ensemble cast for the Baywatch reboot includes several notable actors. Thaddeus LaGrone will take on the role of Brad, while Jessica Belkin portrays Charlie Vale. Additionally, David Chokachi is set to reprise his role as Cody Madison, providing a link to the original series. The reboot will consist of 12 episodes, following Hobie as he assumes the position of Baywatch Captain, mirroring his iconic father Mitch Buchanan's legacy. The narrative gains complexity when his daughter Charlie arrives, intent on continuing the family tradition.

Harrison's Recent Projects and Career Trajectory

Harrison's career has been on a steady upward trajectory. She recently appeared opposite Jai Courtney in the thriller Dangerous Animals, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2025. Following that, she completed work on Deep Eddy, a project set in Austin, Texas, focusing on a writer searching for his kidnapped girlfriend. Currently, Harrison is filming The Rescue, a Western thriller from Paramount co-starring Brandon Sklenar. Her upcoming schedule includes another thriller titled Raven, featuring Anthony Mackie, Pablo Schreiber, Ben Foster, and Ron Livingston.

Legacy of the Original Baywatch Series

The original Baywatch series, which aired from 1989 to 2001, followed the lives of lifeguards patrolling Los Angeles beaches. It starred David Hasselhoff as Mitch Buchanan and catapulted Pamela Anderson to fame in her role as C.J. Parker. Despite receiving consistently negative reviews from critics, the show became a global phenomenon, achieving the status of the most-watched television programme in the world during its run. For its final two years, the series was retitled Baywatch: Hawaii, featuring future movie star Jason Momoa in its cast.

Executive Vision for the Reboot

In a statement to Variety last autumn, Michael Thorn, President of Fox Television Network, expressed enthusiasm for the project. He remarked, 'In its first run, Baywatch defined an entire era of beach life and elevated lifeguards to an iconic status. Now, with our partners at Fremantle, this television juggernaut is set for a modern-day comeback.' Thorn further elaborated that Fox and Fremantle, alongside Matt Nix and original co-creator Greg Bonann, aim to bring the California dream to a new generation with fresh stories, rising stars, and the spectacle that made Baywatch a global sensation.
