Coben's Formula for Success
The thriller bears Coben's hallmarks: a confusing cast, a generic title, and a distinctly ITV3 feel. Yet it is wildly popular, following previous Netflix adaptations such as Fool Me Once (98.2m views), Missing You, and Run Away (both over 50m). Coben has sold over 90 million books in 30 years.
Silent Popularity
Unlike authors like George RR Martin or Lee Child, Coben lacks a vocal fanbase. Viewers consume his shows without professing love. This may be part of his appeal: he quietly produces potboilers without cultivating a personality cult.
Casting Quirks
