John Simm, star of ITV's hit crime drama Grace, has expressed his delight as the show prepares to return for a sixth season. The actor, who plays Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, said he is 'absolutely thrilled' to continue in the role and hopes to keep doing so 'as long as people want it'.
The new season, premiering on ITV1 and ITVX on Sunday, March 29 at 8pm, consists of four standalone films based on Peter James's best-selling novels. The episodes are titled Left You Dead, Capture You Dead, Dead Man's Game, and One Of Us Is Dead.
Simm will be reunited with co-stars Richie Campbell (DI Glenn Branson) and Zoë Tapper (Cleo Morey), alongside returning cast members Laura Elphinstone, Brad Morrison, and Juliette Motamed. Guest stars include Rishi Nair, Ali Khan, and Sara Powell.
Speaking ahead of the premiere, Simm said: 'I'm absolutely thrilled. I will happily do this as long as people want it. I realise how lucky I am to have a cop show, playing a lead in a cop show. Yeah, I love it.' He added that the cast and crew feel like a family, and returning to set 'feels like coming home'.
Richie Campbell echoed the sentiment, saying: 'To be on series six is fantastic. The beautiful thing for us is that each season, we're constantly thinking about upping it.' He concluded: 'As long as people still love it, I'm just like John, I want to do it forever.'
