Gogglebox star Sophie Sandiford has revealed she is training to become a florist after losing her job at Debenhams due to the pandemic. The 26-year-old, who appears on the Channel 4 show alongside her brother Pete, shared the career move during Friday's episode.
Sophie made headlines in 2020 when she broke down in tears on the show over fears of losing her job. In December that year, she confirmed her redundancy with a photo at the Debenhams entrance, captioning it: 'We might be going but we are going with a smile.'
Fans have shown strong support for Sophie's new venture, with one tweeting: '@PeteandSophie I love that you're going to be learning florist but as a florist of almost 20yrs I have no idea how you're going to get anything done with those gloves on.' Another added: '@PeteandSophie is definitely the florist I'd end up spending 2 hours just gossiping with.'
Meanwhile, Pete recently announced his engagement to girlfriend Paige Yeomans. During the first episode of the new series, Sophie asked if he felt different now that he was engaged, to which he replied: 'I feel like an even bigger responsibility... I'm going to have a wife.'
