Gogglebox star Pete Sandiford has announced that he secretly married his fiancée Paige Yeomans and that the couple have welcomed their first child, a baby boy. The 26-year-old reality TV personality shared the news at the National Television Awards on Thursday night, which he attended with his sister and co-star Sophie Sandiford.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Pete said: 'I'm married now! It was nerve-wracking but the best day of my life. Well, second best day as I'm a dad now, too.' He added: 'Being a dad is tiring. The lack of sleep is not cool but it's definitely worth it. He's basically a miniature version of me and Paige and that's what I always wanted so I feel well lucky.'
Pete had previously revealed in February that he was engaged, casually telling his sister during an episode of Gogglebox that he was 'going to have a wife'. In April, the couple announced they were expecting their first child, with Pete sharing an ultrasound scan with Sophie.
The couple's relationship has faced scrutiny in the past, with trolls criticising Pete after he posted a selfie with Paige last October. However, fans have largely celebrated his happy news on social media. Pete, who first appeared on Gogglebox in 2018 alongside his sister, has previously expressed surprise at his popularity on the show.
