Amy Tapper, known for appearing on the Channel 4 show Gogglebox from 2013 to 2018, has revealed she has lost five stone. The 24-year-old, who appeared on the programme alongside her parents Jonathan and Nikki and brother Josh, shared her achievement on social media, saying she 'couldn't be happier'.
Amy first faced bullying about her weight when she appeared on national television at the age of 13. She began her health journey a few years ago, focusing on exercise and healthy eating. In a recent post, she wrote: 'Officially 5 stone down and I couldn't be happier. Never thought I'd be able to reach this milestone so I think I can say I'm proud of myself.'
She thanked her personal trainer Tash, tagging her in the post. Amy also shared a video of herself stepping onto the scales before hugging and dancing with her trainer. The post was met with messages of support from friends and fans, with one commenter saying: 'Amy you were beautiful before and still beautiful now, but you are doing amazing. Well done.'
Amy's health journey began at the start of 2022, when she revealed she had lost 33cm from her waist in five weeks. She had previously tried 'every diet under the sun' but struggled to maintain weight loss. Speaking about the attention her weight loss attracted, she said: 'Most of the time they mean well but there can be nasty comments as well. Luckily I have some amazing supportive people around me.'
She added that she was in 'the best mental and physical health I've ever been' and thanked others for 'cheering me on and joining in'. Amy continues to share updates on her progress on social media.
