Penny Smith, best known for her 17-year stint as newsreader on ITV's GMTV, is making a television comeback after 15 years. The 66-year-old will reunite with former co-presenter Eamonn Holmes on GB News Breakfast next Monday and Tuesday.
Holmes, 65, announced the reunion on Instagram, sharing a photo of the pair in the studio. 'Look who's back! @whichpennysmith Monday and Tuesday, 6am,' he wrote. The two worked together on GMTV from 1983 until Smith's departure in 2010.
Smith expressed her excitement, saying: 'I’m thrilled to be working with Eamonn again, and what a joy to be waking up the nation once more, bringing them the latest news with a healthy dose of fun along the way. It’s just like old times – only better.' Holmes added: 'I’m delighted to be working with Penny again after all these years.'

Smith left GMTV in June 2010, saying it was 'an ideal time to say goodbye to early mornings'. Her final day featured a surprise performance from singer Curtis Stigers, with whom she had previously appeared on BBC's Just The Two Of Us.
