Good Morning Britain reporter Ashna Hurynag has confirmed she will be back on-air next week after a short break. The news correspondent, who joined the ITV show at the start of 2026, shared the update with fans on Instagram.
Break from screens
Hurynag, who previously worked at Sky News for five years, has been absent from the programme recently. In an Instagram post, she addressed viewers who had been asking about her return, writing: "PS. for those lovely people asking - back on-air next week, been soaking up some rays having some r&r."
The post included a series of images from Taylor Swift's wedding to sports star Travis Kelce, which she covered live from New York. She captioned the post: "When Taylor got married, and we pulled a 20-hour, almost all-nighter in New York City to be live on Good Morning Britain & ITV News' programmes!!!"
Career highlights
Since joining GMB, Hurynag has covered a range of stories, including government action on railway fraud, flytipping issues, World Cup antics, and celebrity weddings. Her coverage of Swift's wedding saw her broadcast live from outside the venue in New York.
Hurynag announced her departure from Sky News at the end of 2025, writing on X: "Breaking news! Thank you to the team for the surprise send-off as I bid farewell to Sky News. The people are what make it the best place to work. I cannot thank them enough for their support, kindness and friendship over the years. See you on a screen near you soon."
During her final Sky broadcast, colleagues paid tribute with a montage of her best moments. One colleague remarked: "The other thing about Ashna, genuinely - all the production teams, everyone who works at Sky, no one has got a bad word to say about this woman. She is just a genuinely lovely person, and we'll miss you a lot. Why would you want to leave Sky?"
