Good Morning Britain viewers switched off during Friday's show (October 2) after presenters discussed the new series of Celebrity Traitors, with some accusing the programme of revealing spoilers.
ITV's entertainment reporter Richard Arnold appeared on the show dressed as the BBC's Claudia Winkleman, wearing a black wig, a blazer with a white shirt underneath and fingerless gloves. He stood alongside Ranvir Singh and Laura Tobin, who wore green cloaks similar to those seen on The Traitors.
Presenters discuss the new series
Before a commercial break, Richard asked the pair if they had 'made a decision'. Laura replied: "We've made our decision. We're going to have to murder, Kate."
Kate Garraway responded: "This is all very triggering, I'm absolutely Faithful! Do you not know this? I'm a total Faithful. Oh, that's why you're murdering me, of course. I remain flabbergasted. Can't trust your friends, can you?"
Kate was referring to her time on Celebrity Traitors last year. The team then discussed the first episode of the current series, which featured the debut of celebrities including Maya Jama, Ross Kemp and James Blunt.
Viewers react on social media
However, viewers were not impressed. One person wrote on X: "@gmb We know you all to bang on about #TheTraitors, but it's barely been 12 hours since broadcast, and you are no doubt revealing who the Traitors are in your segment right now, I've had to turn over because I've not had time to watch it yet and don't want it spoiled #gmb."
Another added: "Was Kate on Traitors? They never mention it." Someone else shared: "GMB In an age when most of us watch catch-up TV, why are you going to flood the mornings with what happened on The Traitors the night before. Sadly, I shall not be watching you for a while - you are spoiling the show."
A fourth commented: "Why have #GMB spent the last hour obsessing over a rival station's game show? It's embarrassing." Another person said: "Why is the media so obsessed with Traitors? No one I know has even heard of it, let alone f*****g watched it."
Who is taking part this year
This year's Celebrity Traitors lineup includes Amol Rajan, Bella Ramsey, Jerry Hall, James Acaster, James Blunt, Professor Hannah Fry, Richard E. Grant, Myha'la, Miranda Hart and Joe Lycett. Also taking part are Joanne McNally, King Kenny, Rob Beckett, Maya Jama, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Michael Sheen, Sharon Rooney, Ross Kemp, Romesh Ranganathan and Sebastian Croft.
