Good Morning Britain viewers have expressed a preference for Ben Shephard to take over from Richard Madeley as a potential replacement for Piers Morgan, whose future on the show remains uncertain. Morgan has admitted that negotiations over his contract are ongoing, with a possible departure next year.
Richard Madeley, who has guest-hosted on GMB, has drawn comparisons to Alan Partridge due to his on-air blunders and tan fails. While some viewers have enjoyed his antics, others have called for Ben Shephard to step into a more permanent role.
Ben Shephard has been a mainstay on breakfast television since 2000, joining GMTV and later GMB. He currently co-hosts on Thursdays and Fridays, often filling in for Piers Morgan. However, reports have suggested ITV may consider him as a replacement for Phillip Schofield on This Morning, though the network has denied this.
Eamonn Holmes, another veteran presenter, has also been mentioned as a possible candidate. He returned to ITV in 2017 and has praised Morgan for reviving the show's ratings.
