Good Morning Britain viewers complained during Thursday's show that presenter Tom Swarbrick repeatedly interrupted Education Secretary Lucy Powell while she was being interviewed.
Swarbrick was co-presenting with Susanna Reid, standing in for her regular colleague Ed Balls. The pair spoke to Powell about the government's latest plan to help young people, but viewers noticed Swarbrick cutting off the MP multiple times.
Viewers demand Swarbrick stop interrupting
On X, one person demanded that the ITV star 'stop interrupting' the guest. Another criticised Swarbrick for cutting people off 'mid-sentence' while still expecting them to answer.
The interview itself got off to a delayed start due to problems with Powell's microphone. Once the issue was resolved, Reid apologised for the delay before asking the MP about the government's plan.
Powell's name mix-up corrected by Reid
When Powell began her response, she accidentally called Reid 'Kate' - a reference to her co-star Kate Garraway. Reid swiftly corrected the MP, who immediately apologised, saying: "Sorry Susanna, I am really sorry."
Reid laughed off the mistake, joking that they had not got off to a 'good start' following the earlier technical issues.
Earlier wedding congratulations on the show
Earlier this week, Reid congratulated news correspondent Amelia Beckett on her recent wedding during the programme. Reid called Beckett on-screen after a report from location, saying: "Amelia still there, on board, come by Amelia? Because yesterday we congratulated Richard Arnold for having just got married, and today it is Amelia's turn, huge congratulations. I have been keeping up to date on your wonderful Instagram."
Joking about a honeymoon on the deck of the Daffodil, Beckett laughed and said: "Well, my husband's a scouser, so it will probably be his dream honeymoon." She added: "It was the best event ever. I mean, everyone says it's the best day of your life, but yeah, it really is."
