Production on the second season of Prime Video's superhero series Gen V has been delayed indefinitely after one of its stars, Chance Perdomo, died in a motorcycle accident.
Perdomo, 27, is believed to have died late on Friday or early on Saturday in Upstate New York while returning to Toronto, where the cast and crew were due to gather for a table read. His representatives confirmed that no other individuals were involved in the crash.
The cast and producers were expected to convene in Toronto for the first table read of the new season on Saturday, ahead of filming scheduled to begin on 8 April. Instead, they spent the day coming to terms with the sudden loss.
The writers and producers now face the decision of how to proceed without Perdomo, who played Andre Anderson, a popular student with magnetic manipulation abilities. They will either overhaul the scripts to write his character out or recast the role.
Perdomo starred alongside Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Asa Germann and Shelley Conn in The Boys spinoff. He will be remembered as one of the industry's future stars.
