Friends fans have spotted a production mistake in an episode that first aired 26 years ago, though some viewers argue there is a reasonable explanation. In a TikTok video, user @friends.af pointed out that a cameraman is visible during a scene in season six, episode 13, when Chandler Bing and Monica Geller are sitting on a sofa in her apartment. The crew member can be seen standing behind the actors in the kitchen while the group are filmed in conversation.
This is not the only time a member of the production team has been caught on camera. Another viewer claimed a cameraman is visible in season six, episode seven, when Chandler is cleaning the apartment and runs to the coffee table. A third fan noted that in one of the holiday episodes, a shot reveals the stage rather than the set.
Explaining why it has taken so long for many to notice, one user commented: "It's because aspect ratios on TVs have changed. On an old SRT 4:3 ratio, you wouldn't see him. But on a 16:9 you do." Others pointed out additional blunders, including a body double in the episode where the Gellers celebrate their wedding anniversary, and shadows and doors that appear unexpectedly.
The latest discovery follows an earlier mistake involving Rachel Green, played by Jennifer Aniston, in season nine, episode four. Mid-scene, Rachel is briefly replaced by a stand-in with straight hair and a dark blue top, while the real Rachel appears with curly hair and a yellow top. The substitute is visible for only a few seconds before the camera returns to focus on Aniston.
