Kelvin Fletcher and his wife Liz have shared a significant update following a devastating fire that destroyed their farmhouse last October. The family of six, who were away at the time, received a distressing call from a neighbour about the blaze, which rendered their home uninhabitable. After more than a year in temporary accommodation, they have now returned to their cherished farm.
During the season three finale of Fletchers' Family Farm, Kelvin announced the arrival of a new lodge, marking the final step in their journey back to living on the farm. He described the day as "huge" and noted that the hardest part of the ordeal had been feeling disconnected as a family. Being back on the farm, he said, brings them together again.
Liz opened up about the challenges of dealing with the aftermath of the fire, describing it as a full-time job involving surveys and other processes. She admitted that they had not yet started clearing the house or beginning building work. The new temporary lodge, which she light-heartedly called a "posh caravan," will allow them to be on-site and make the renovation process more efficient.
Kelvin acknowledged the challenge ahead as they adapt to lodge living with four children. Liz expressed relief and excitement, stating that being back on the farm 24/7 feels like the best feeling and will take the edge off the upset caused by the fire.
