Channel 4's BAFTA-winning dating programme First Dates is returning for a brand new series this week. The show, which first aired in 2013, follows singletons as they embark on a first date at an upmarket restaurant, unaware of who their potential partner might be.
The restaurant is helmed by French maître d' Fred Sirieix and his team, who play matchmaker for the hopeful romantics. From embarrassing encounters to budding romantic connections, the programme has become enormously popular with audiences since its launch.
