Fiona Bruce, host of BBC's Question Time, has faced a fresh wave of criticism on social media following the latest episode from Edinburgh. Viewers accused her of repeatedly interrupting panellists, particularly SNP deputy first minister Kate Forbes.
The panel included Douglas Ross (Scottish Conservatives), Anas Sarwar (Scottish Labour), Stephen Noon (pro-independence strategist), and Iain Anderson (former UK government adviser). Many viewers took to Twitter to express frustration, with some claiming Bruce interrupted Forbes more than others.
One exchange that drew attention involved a question on transitioning from oil and gas to clean energy. Bruce pressed Forbes on the SNP's position on new oil and gas licences, asking: 'Are you for them or against them or not for them?' When Forbes attempted to explain the party's case-by-case approach, Bruce interjected, leading Forbes to plead: 'I'm answering your question.'
Some viewers defended Bruce, arguing it is her role to ensure panellists answer questions. However, others said they switched off due to the perceived bias. The BBC has not commented on the backlash.
