Everybody Loves Raymond 30th Anniversary Reunion Cast Then and Now
Everybody Loves Raymond 30th Anniversary Reunion

The beloved American sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond is celebrating a major milestone, bringing its iconic cast back together for a heartfelt 30th anniversary reunion special.

A Cast Transformed: Then and Now

At the peak of its success, the show captivated 20 million viewers each week, but longtime fans may find some cast members almost unrecognisable today. While some stars have aged remarkably well, others have undergone dramatic transformations.

Madylin Sweeten, who played Ray and Debra's daughter Ally, is a prime example. Now 34, the former child star has swapped her long blonde hair for a striking fiery red bob and has stepped away from television to focus on a career in theatre.

In contrast, Patricia Heaton (Debra) looks much the same as she did three decades ago, with her stunning silver hair being the most notable change from her character's reddish-brown style. Monica Horan, who played Amy, also appears virtually unchanged at 62.

Remembering Lost Friends

The reunion is a bittersweet occasion, marked by the absence of beloved cast members who have passed away. Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle, who portrayed the unforgettable Marie and Frank Barone, died after the series wrapped in 2005.

The special also pays tribute to Sawyer Sweeten, Madylin's real-life brother who played one of the twin boys alongside his sibling Sullivan. Sawyer tragically died by suicide in 2019 at just 19 years old.

Reflecting on the losses, Patricia Heaton shared on Instagram, "I'm also reminded of the ache of those we've lost. I know Peter, Doris and Sawyer will be sharing this moment with us in spirit, smiling."

Special Details and Reunion Insights

Everybody Loves Raymond: 30th Anniversary Reunion will air on November 24 from 8 to 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and will be available for streaming on Paramount+.

Hosted by star Ray Romano and series creator Phil Rosenthal, the special will feature the cast sharing their favourite moments, episodes, and behind-the-scenes stories from the show's nine-season run.

This gathering follows a previous reunion in July, where Heaton and Romano met at The Paley Museum in New York City to reflect on the show's legacy.

However, fans hoping for a full series reboot should not hold their breath. Star Brad Garrett has definitively stated that a revival is impossible without the pivotal characters of Frank and Marie, played by the late Boyle and Roberts, calling them the "catalyst" of the entire show.
