Euphoria Season 3 Release Date Confirmed for April 2026 After 4-Year Wait
Euphoria Season 3 Release Date Set for April 2026

After a four-year hiatus that tested the patience of its massive fanbase, the highly anticipated third season of HBO's groundbreaking drama Euphoria finally has a confirmed premiere date. The series will make its explosive return in April 2026.

Long-Awaited Return for Hit HBO Drama

The last episode of season two aired in February 2022, leaving millions of viewers in suspense. The show, created by Sam Levinson, became a cultural phenomenon, catapulting its young cast to global stardom and earning critical acclaim for its raw portrayal of teenage life, addiction, and identity.

The core narrative follows Zendaya's Rue Bennett, a teenager battling substance abuse while navigating a complex relationship with Hunter Schafer's character, Jules Vaughn. The ensemble cast also includes Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, and the late Angus Cloud.

New Cast and Time Jump Details Revealed

Showrunner Sam Levinson recently shared first-look details at an HBO Max event in London, confirming the new season will feature a significant five-year time jump. "Five years felt like a natural place because if they'd gone to college they'd be out of college at that time," Levinson explained.

The story will find Rue in Mexico, deeply in debt to the dangerous dealer Laurie (Martha Kelly) and seeking "innovative" ways to repay it. Meanwhile, Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Nate (Jacob Elordi) are engaged and living in the suburbs, with Cassie battling social media envy. Levinson confirmed, "I will say that Cassie and Nate do in fact get married. I'm confirming it."

Other character updates include:

  • Jules (Hunter Schafer) attending art school and avoiding responsibility.
  • Maddy (Alexa Demie) working at a Hollywood talent agency.
  • Lexi (Maude Apatow) serving as an assistant to a showrunner played by new cast member Sharon Stone.

Cast Changes and New Additions

While much of the original cast is returning—including Eric Dane, Colman Domingo, and Nika King—the new season will also introduce several high-profile newcomers. Alongside Sharon Stone, new faces will include singer Rosalía, actor Natasha Lyonne, and former NFL star Marshawn Lynch.

However, some familiar characters will not be back. Barbie Ferreira's Kat and Storm Reid's Gia are confirmed absent from season three. Actors Austin Abrams and Algee Smith were also omitted from HBO's official cast list, suggesting their characters may not return.

Despite the lengthy production delay, Levinson has expressed supreme confidence in the new material, stating, "I feel strongly this is our best season yet." Fans in the UK will be able to stream the new episodes on Sky and NOW when Euphoria season 3 premieres in April 2026.
