Dick and Angel Strawbridge have announced the return of their beloved reality programme Escape to the Chateau for a tenth series. The couple took to Instagram to share the news, stating that production has officially begun on the new series, which promises to be 'magical' and will feature their children Dorothy, 10, and Arthur, 12, now settled into college.
The series, which first aired on Channel 4 in 2015, follows the Strawbridges as they renovate the 19th-century Chateau de la Motte-Husson in Martigne-sur-Mayenne, France. After nine successful series, the show concluded in 2022, with the couple deciding to take a break from filming.
In their announcement, the Strawbridges explained that Series 10 will bring 'more change and growth than the Chateau has ever seen,' and hinted at the possibility of a Christmas special. They thanked fans for their support and expressed excitement to share the next chapter.
Fans were quick to react with enthusiasm, with one commenting: 'My husband and I have started rewatching the series from the beginning, so this is brilliant! Cannot wait to see it.' Another said: 'Oh, I'm excited for this! I think a rewatch of 1-9 in preparation is in order.'
The announcement comes more than two years after Channel 4 reportedly cut ties with the couple following an independent inquiry into their behaviour. Two Rivers Media, the production company, had also ceased working with them.
