The Strawbridge family has delighted fans with a snowy update from their French château, teasing a special filming session amid confirmation that the beloved Channel 4 programme will return for a tenth series.
Dick and Angel Strawbridge took to Instagram on Sunday to share a photograph of themselves standing in the snow outside their 19th-century home, alongside pictures of their children Arthur and Dorothy catching snowflakes. “Christmas came early this weekend at the Chateau… We got to film something rather special with the perfect weather conditions!” the couple wrote, adding they could not wait to share the footage.
Followers were quick to comment, with many remarking on how much the children have grown. “Oh my goodness how grown up are the kids now,” wrote one fan, while another said Arthur and Dorothy are “growing up so quick”. The Strawbridges first appeared on screen with their children as toddlers.
The update comes after the family announced last month that production had officially resumed for series ten of the documentary programme, which first aired in 2016. In a statement, they explained that after taking a break from filming in 2022 following series nine, the time was now right to invite cameras back. “With Arthur and Dorothy happily settled into college, series ten brings more change and growth than the chateau has ever seen,” they said, also hinting at a possible Christmas special.
The couple, who bought the run-down estate in France in 2015, have spent over a decade restoring it while running a wedding and events business. They continue to share glimpses of their life on social media, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the property.
Series ten of Escape to the Chateau is currently in production, with episodes expected to air on Channel 4.
