Patsy Kensit's much-anticipated Emmerdale comeback will reportedly see Sadie King fake her own death as part of a "sensational" return storyline. According to the Sun on Sunday, the villainous character is set to be back in the Dale this summer, two decades after she was last seen.
Sadie's return brings her back to a village where several former flames and rivals still live, including Jimmy King, Cain Dingle, Charity Dingle and Robert Sugden. ITV declined to speculate on the storyline, saying the channel does not "speculate on storyline speculation".
'Sensational' fake death plot
The Sun on Sunday quoted an insider as saying: "Patsy's exit has got everyone talking. Soaps are notorious for faking deaths. The scenes are set to be sensational and scriptwriters are excited to see them play out. Patsy's character Sadie is a great villain, so bosses were keen to give her the opportunity to return, if they need her to stir the pot."
Emmerdale recently unveiled its summer spoilers, which focused on six female characters, including Sadie. Producer Laura Shaw promised an intense season ahead, saying: "From explosive secrets that shatter lives to dangerous new allegiances that threaten to tear the village apart, this season promises to be one of our most intense yet. The village is set for a dramatic transformation, and we can't wait for our audience to see the peril these characters face."

Announcing her return on social media, Patsy Kensit said: "Such exciting storylines, great writing great team and the cast have welcomed me back with so much love. Thank you all up in Leeds, one of my favourite cities in the UK."
