In Friday's episode of Emmerdale, Aaron Dingle faces a dark realisation as he uncovers his husband John Sugden's true colours. After being drugged by John, Aaron stumbles into the woods and discovers the hidden bunker where John has been holding Mackenzie Boyd captive.
Mack manages to escape but is quickly caught by John, who knocks him out and brandishes an axe. A disoriented Aaron suffers a seizure from the poisoning before John drags him back to the cottage.
Upon waking, Aaron investigates while John's back is turned and finds evidence that raises serious red flags. Meanwhile, Paddy Dingle realises he has been speaking to John during his helpline calls with an unstable man.
Next week, Aaron attempts to flee from John, but Robert Sugden arrives to rescue him. In a dramatic climax, John grabs Aaron and jumps off a gorge, leaving Robert to face accusations in the aftermath.
