Emmerdale fans are convinced that a new wedding trailer for Joe Tate and Dawn Taylor's nuptials is teasing a major character's death. The chilling promo, released ahead of the wedding later this year, shows bride Dawn, played by Olivia Bromley, staring at her reflection in a mirror while wearing her bridal gown.
In the reflection, her fiancé Joe and her ex Billy Fletcher appear beside her, but at various points, one of the trio vanishes, accompanied by a sinister noise. The trailer suggests Dawn must choose between the two men on her wedding day, with her vacant expression adding to the eerie atmosphere.
Sinister Turn
As the trailer progresses, the room darkens and the men disappear, leaving Dawn looking as though she is crying, with what some fans believe is a black veil. This has sparked speculation that the wedding could end in tragedy, with a death possibly occurring.
Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw has teased what viewers can expect, promising "tragedy" and "heartbreak" during the wedding week. Speaking to the Mirror and other press, she said: "The wedding week itself is going to be dramatic, let's face it."
Producer's Promise
Laura added: "It's really exciting. What I can tell you is that it's going to be one of the biggest weeks of the year for Emmerdale. It's a week of episodes, it's going to be full of heartbreak. I mean it's typical Emmerdale. Think stunts, heartbreak, tragedy, twists, turns. It's gonna have it all, it's gonna be amazing."
The hints of heartbreak and tragedy, combined with the black veil in the trailer, have led fans to believe that a death is imminent, though this remains unconfirmed.
Sadie King's Return
Meanwhile, fans are also awaiting the return of Sadie King, played by Patsy Kensit. Laura teased: "I'm not sure that everyone is going to welcome Sadie back with open arms. In fact, I think it's probably quite the opposite. What you'll see is that there's quite a few of our residents who don't know Sadie of old."
She continued: "There's maybe one or two new surprising friendships for Sadie. Whether those people are right to trust Sadie or not is a different matter, and we'll have to see what happens there. I mean, it's Sadie King, of course she's got an agenda, you know? I think what I can say is the reason that Sadie comes back and the secret that she comes back with is going to be absolutely shocking. Whether all is quite as it seems, we shall see as the story progresses, but it's going to be pretty big and pretty shocking."
