Emmerdale: April's nightmare deepens as Ray threatens her with gun

The drug-dealing storyline in Emmerdale has taken a dark turn for April Windsor, with the latest ITVX release showing her terror escalate. After being ordered to meet a client, April found herself in a terrifying situation and killed the man with a bottle in a desperate attempt to escape.

Celia ordered Ray to dispose of the body, but April has been left traumatised, with the face of her victim haunting her every time she closes her eyes. With her boyfriend Dylan missing and no one she can trust, April has become increasingly isolated.

Dylan eventually reappeared, his body covered in bruises, and revealed he had been savagely beaten after taking money that belonged to Ray. He had planned to use the cash to flee the village with April, but the brutal punishment he suffered has left him shaken.

April, unable to burden Dylan with her own secret, told Ray she could not cope and wanted to hand herself in to the police. Ray, determined to protect his operation, pulled out a gun and warned her: 'It's a warning this time. Next time I'll have no choice but to shut you up for good.'

Mark Charnock, who plays Marlon, has teased that things are going to get considerably worse before they get better. He revealed that a special episode contains a twist that shocked him so much he wished he had known about it before reading it, describing it as a great twist of drama.
