Emmerdale Confirms Heartbreaking Exit for Gail Loman After Six Years

Emmerdale spoilers have confirmed the departure of fan favourite Gail Loman, played by Rachael Gill-Davis, after six years on the ITV soap. The character, who first appeared in 2019 for a brief stint before returning permanently in 2023, is set to leave the village following emotional scenes next week.

According to spoilers, Gail will tell her boyfriend Ryan Stocks that she no longer believes they are in love, leading to a heartbreaking split. The confession comes during a game with other residents watching on, leaving Ryan stunned and devastated as he begs her not to leave.

Reports of Gill-Davis's exit first emerged in March, with a source telling The Sun that it was a mutual decision between the actress and show bosses. The source said: 'Rachael has loved her time on the show but it's time to go. Bosses felt the character wasn't inspiring much story and so it was all very amicable.'

The source added that the door has been left open for a potential return, but for now it is a definite goodbye. Gill-Davis is said to be looking forward to 'spreading her wings' and pursuing other acting opportunities.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. An exact exit date for Gail has yet to be confirmed.
