Emmerdale viewers are in for another emotional week as Monty Dingle bids farewell, Nicola grows suspicious over Jimmy's affections, and a villager decides not to leave after all.

Nicola Questions Jimmy

Nicola worries her love life with Jimmy has become stale, so Jimmy arranges a date, which delights her. Her excitement fades when she sees what he has planned and how he hopes to spend their extra time together. When Jimmy brings his golf clubs to the café, Nicola shoves them and a jewellery box clatters out. Certain Jimmy wouldn't be so romantic, Nicola fears the gift is meant for someone else.

Monty's Goodbye

Cain plans to ask Kyle about Moira adopting him, but when Moira leaves to visit an injured Nana Barton, Cain decides to have the conversation alone. When Cain suggests Moira adopt him, Kyle is blindsided and seeks Kerry's advice. Kyle heads back to give Cain his answer, but Sam appears with news that something is very wrong with Monty. Rhona examines Monty and suggests his tumour may have spread further, advising Sam to think about next steps. Cain is emotional as he views his fate as entwined with Monty's.

Later, Cain finds Monty sleeping on Zak's grave and accepts it is time to say goodbye. He explains Monty's situation to the boys. At the vets with Monty, Cain braces himself, and he and his sons share an emotional moment. At Isaac's suggestion, Cain agrees to see Monty off like a true Dingle and prepare for a funeral. Cain's eulogy for Monty sees the family united in grief, love, and hope.

Charity's Bravery and Noah's Decision

Noah is pensive about breaking the news that he is moving to Dusseldorf to his mum. When he tells her, Charity is heartbroken. So Noah decides to stay in the village for her sake. Having found the strength to return to the support group, Charity opens up about what makes her experience different from everyone else's and explains her feelings of self-blame. The facilitator tries to help her see that she is carrying guilt and shame that should belong to the perpetrator.
