Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) faces her abuser Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) in Emmerdale next week, branding her a rapist and making clear her power is gone. But someone overhears the confrontation.
Charity's courage
On Sunday, August 9, Charity summons all her courage and confronts Todd at Jacobs Fold, demanding she leave. Todd refuses, spitting venom and threatening legal action. As Charity demands a full confession, Todd counters by threatening to tell Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) the truth about Leyla's parentage. The row escalates until Charity denounces Todd as a rapist, and someone quietly entering the cottage overhears.
Dawn and Billy's escape plan
Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) and Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) decide to run away with their family before Dawn's wedding to Joe Tate (Ned Porteous). Despite Dawn's doubts that Joe would traumatise the kids, Billy insists Joe attacked him, and Dawn believes him. She blames herself while lamenting being trapped with Joe's baby, and Billy suggests they run away.
On Tuesday, August 11, Dawn struggles with practical arrangements while Billy answers DS Byrne's (Dana Haqjoo) questions. Caleb Miligan (William Ash) is furious when Billy clears Joe's name to the police, but Billy explains it's a smokescreen to lull Joe into a false sense of security. Billy asks Caleb for help with the escape.
Kev and Lewis bond
Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) continues his determination to be a good dad to Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches). On Thursday, August 13, Kev offers to teach Lewis to ride a bike when Lewis admits he never learned, but panics when Lewis accepts.
On Friday, August 14, it becomes clear Kev doesn't know how to ride a bike either, and he crashes. Lewis is touched rather than hurt, and they bond further before Lewis drops a sudden announcement that shakes everything.
Dylan's struggle and Ruby's frustration
Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) continues to struggle with his experiences. April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) pushes him to consider counselling, and Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) urges the same. Meanwhile, Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) is put out when Kev refuses to rob a delivery from Jimmy's new haulage contract.
