John Sugden places a listening device inside Robert Sugden's home as part of his plan to destroy his brother, and soon uncovers some dirt on him, according to new Emmerdale spoilers.
In a clip for next week, John is seen watching Ross Barton before approaching him in the village. John feigns hesitation, pretending he is about to leave, before telling Ross he has a right to know something. Ross demands answers, asking: "What's he done now?"
John deliberately targets Ross, knowing how he will react to information about Robert. The exact nature of the secret is not revealed, but speculation suggests it could be linked to Robert stealing cannabis plants from Ross and his brother Lewis, or to Robert's lies to Moira Dingle about buying land from her.
The twist comes as John continues his campaign against Robert, who is unaware of his brother's dark crimes. Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
