Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) was caught breaking into Home Farm this week, slipping up in Emmerdale. The person who spotted her was Kev Townsend's (Chris Coghill) mate Steve (Jason Done), who was there to steal expensive goods. Moments later, Ross Barton (Michael Parr) appeared, forcing the duo to exit quickly.
Ross Barton learns of Serena's involvement
During a conversation with Kim Tate (Claire King) after the burglary, Ross received a call from Serena. Up until this point, she had no idea another Sugden was in town, but quickly assumed the new face was dodgy. In the pub, Ross spotted Steve and chased after him. He threatened to call the police about the robbery, but Steve countered that if he did, he would have to tell them Serena was also in Home Farm.
Serena's paranoia grows
It wasn't a surprise that Serena managed to charm her way out of questioning by Ross in tonight's episode. However, her confidence lowered when Ross mentioned that Kim thinks she is hiding something. Paranoid, Serena texted someone and told them she was 'pressing pause' on whatever she is up to due to Kim being suspicious. The fact that Serena named Kim in the text suggests the person she is speaking to knows her.
Who is Serena texting?
Fans are speculating that Serena is communicating with Sadie King (Patsy Kensit), who will return to the show this year. Sadie and Kim never crossed paths when she was last in the village, but it is possible Sadie believes she can take over Home Farm. Others wonder if Serena is working with Kim's son, Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln). When Serena was in Home Farm with Ross, she seemed very interested in the gossip he shared about Jamie.
