Serena Sugden might have triggered her own downfall in Emmerdale after a moment with Moira Dingle exposed what she is hiding. The newcomer, who debuted in recent episodes, has raised suspicions among village residents with her constant questions about her killer cousin John Sugden and her sudden appearance.
Moira Dingle's Suspicion Grows
On Friday, Moira Dingle was left adamant that something was amiss with Serena. The newcomer's fatal error came when she fished for information about John's murder victim, Nate Robinson. Moira, already wary, shut down the conversation and left the pub. However, her suspicion only intensified.
According to the show, Serena's blunder was asking too many questions about Nate's death. It is one thing to bring up her killer cousin and admit she knew him, despite not seeing the Sugdens for years, but to fish for details about Nate's demise was a step too far. Moira could see what Serena was doing and was determined to uncover the truth.
Robert Sugden Warned
Next week, Moira remains suspicious and speaks to Robert Sugden about Serena's shifty behaviour. Serena is hiding her mystery laptop research from Robert and Vanessa Woodfield. She also starts asking them about John, alarming Vanessa so much that she tells Moira. Moira, now knowing that Serena is asking questions about both John and Nate, takes action and warns Robert that Serena must never know the truth about John and what happened to him.
Fans know that Serena's cousin Victoria Sugden killed her brother John in self-defence. Meanwhile, Aaron Dingle, Robert's fiancé and Moira's nephew, is also very suspicious of his partner's cousin. He is not alone, as Kev Townsend drops a bombshell on Robert, while Aaron's mother Chas Dingle, Nate's aunt, agrees to keep an eye on Serena. Things take a turn when the mother and son are shocked by what they find out.
Serena's Real Intentions
Serena's constant questioning and secretive behaviour have left the village on edge. Moira is convinced Serena is up to no good, and her fatal error in asking about Nate has sealed her fate. With multiple characters now watching her, Serena's true intentions may soon be revealed.
