Emmerdale: Ross Barton's fate after Mack attack

Emmerdale's latest episode on Monday sees Mack Boyd attack Ross Barton, leaving him injured at the farm after a dramatic showdown. But will Ross be okay after the fall?

What happened in the showdown?

Mack lures Ross to the farm to take revenge over Ross's fling with Mack's wife Charity Dingle. Ross and Charity slept together months ago, and Charity fell pregnant with his baby. She had agreed to be a surrogate for Sarah and Jacob Sugden, but after welcoming baby Leyla, she kept up the pretence that Leyla was their child. Leyla is actually the daughter of Ross and Charity, and Mack now knows the truth.

In Monday's episode, Mack tricks Ross into thinking he needs help on the farm. A fight ensues, and both characters end up on the barn mezzanine. Mack shoves Ross, sending him flying off the mezzanine. Ross is injured and left on the ground below, leaving his fate up in the air.

Does Ross die?

Spoilers have kept quiet about what comes next, but none of the spoilers for the rest of the week suggest Ross is dead. The fact that none of Ross's loved ones seem concerned is a massive hint that he is going nowhere. Actor Mike Parr, who plays Ross, isn't thought to be leaving, so it seems Ross will live to fight another day.

Wednesday's episode will fill in any gaps, but it doesn't look like Ross is leaving or dies, so panic likely over. Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
