Emmerdale will not air on ITV1 or ITVX on Thursday evening, with the usual early-release episode also scrapped. The schedule shake-up means fans will have to wait until Friday for their next fix of the Dales.
The hour-long Thursday episode has been dropped to make way for live football coverage on ITV1. ITV has not moved the episode to another day, so viewers will miss out on Thursday's instalment entirely.
The next episode airs on Friday at the usual time of 7:30pm for 30 minutes. The disruption is believed to have been planned in advance.
Meanwhile, fans have noticed that character Billy Fletcher has been absent from screens for three months. He is set to return next week, with spoilers revealing he will be involved in a drug storyline involving teens Dylan and April.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
