Emmerdale fans speculate secret link between newcomers Kev and Dylan

Emmerdale viewers have sparked a new theory suggesting a hidden connection between two recently introduced characters, Kev and Dylan. The speculation comes ahead of major standalone episodes planned for characters linked to both men.

Fans have questioned whether Chris Coghill's character Kev could be the father of Dylan, a teenager introduced earlier this year who was living on the streets and estranged from his family. One viewer posted: “Is Dylan Kev’s son?” Another fan responded: “I saw a tweet suggesting Dylan could be Kev’s son. I just feel like it could actually make me care about Dylan and give Kev something to stick around for after Aaron and Robert’s affair comes out.”

However, other viewers have dismissed the theory as unlikely, noting that Kev has been in prison for years. In a recent scene, Kev stated he had not been out for a very long time, with fans calculating that he was likely incarcerated since 2002. As actor Fred Kettle, who plays Dylan, was born in 2007, one fan commented: “Kev has been in prison since 2002, so Dylan couldn’t be any younger than 23. Unless he was a sperm donor or something, I don’t see how that’s feasible.”

Meanwhile, actor Chris Coghill has teased that Kev is “unhinged” and “incredibly dangerous,” though he insisted the character is “not another baddie.” He added: “One day I can be a psychopath and the next day I’m doing something quite touching. Baking cakes.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
