Emmerdale Fans Stunned by Woolpack Pint Prices

Emmerdale fans were left gobsmacked after discovering just how much a pint costs at the Woolpack. The legendary establishment is amongst the most recognisable boozers in the entire soap universe and boasts a rich heritage spanning the programme's 53-year run on television.

Fan Reactions to Pint Prices

Responding to a recent episode, one viewer remarked: "Jesus the drinks are cheap in the Woolie! 4 pints and keep the change? From £20 [laughing face emoji]." Another chimed in: "I know! Drinks at the Woolpack are on me lol." A third wrote: "And people reckon there is no difference in northern and southern prices!" Someone else also commented: "Wouldn't be much change from a £20."

History of The Woolpack

Throughout the decades, audiences have witnessed numerous faces manning the famous bar, starting with the original landlord, Amos Brearly, portrayed by Ronald Magill from 1972 to 1995, with a three-year hiatus from 1991. Ronald passed away in 2007 at the age of 87. More recent publicans have included soap favourites such as Diane Sugden (Elizabeth Estensen), Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler).

Current Ownership

At present, the establishment is run by Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and her son Ryan (James Moore). The duo secured ownership of the venue after successfully bidding for it at auction in 2022. Recently though, Charity nearly offloaded the business after villainous Dr Todd (Caroline Harker) attempted to blackmail her regarding the real paternity of Leyla Sugden.

Actors on Owning the Pub

In 2022, actor James Moore expressed his delight at becoming one of the new proprietors. He stated: "I was excited to hear Ryan would be one of the new owners of the pub. It's a big step for him as a character especially after losing his mother and cements his part in Emmerdale history." Charity actress Emma Atkins mentioned she was eager for more scenes with Chas (Lucy Pargeter). She divulged: "I was over the moon. Knowing they're going to put Charity and Chas together again, it's a dream."

Emmerdale airs Monday to Friday at 8:00pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
