Emmerdale fans 'rumble' who killed villain Ray Walters after suspects revealed

Emmerdale viewers were left shocked on Monday as villain Ray Walters was mysteriously killed off, sparking a new whodunnit. The baddie had last been seen facing the repercussions of his dark actions, after murdering his mother Celia Daniels in a chilling scene last week.

Ray stabbed Celia, telling her body he was 'free' now, but his hopes of starting over were dashed. He made enemies of several characters, and Laurel, sickened by what Ray and Celia put April and Dylan through, told him their relationship was over.

Monday's episode opened with a mystery body being dragged across the floor, soon revealed to be Ray. The episode, available early on ITVX, gave clues: Rhona Goskirk asked someone 'have you done it', Marlon was seen hiding his phone, Ross Barton was in a car with April and a gun, and Laurel wiped some scissors with shaking hands.

April tearfully admitted she struggled with knowing she'd killed a man (unaware Callum never died), as the camera panned to suspects Rhona, Laurel, and Ross. Viewers have speculated Dylan, Bear, Arthur Thomas, Ross, or Laurel as the killer.
