Emmerdale viewers have voiced concerns for Robert Sugden's safety after his brother John was seen on the run at the end of Friday's episode. John's crimes have finally been exposed, leading to Robert's release from prison after he was wrongfully charged with attempted murder.
John had framed his brother after dragging Aaron Dingle off a cliff. Aaron, who had discovered that John killed Nate Robinson and was responsible for Mack Boyd's kidnapping, was left in a coma. He later woke up and revealed the truth, prompting Robert's release and the search for John.
Upon returning to the village, Robert shared a moment with Cain Dingle, who showed appreciation for Robert's efforts to expose John as the killer of his son Nate. However, neither Chas Dingle nor Aaron offered the apology Robert deserved after months of disbelief. Victoria tried to support him, but some fans felt the show moved on too quickly.
The latest threat emerged as John evaded police and sneaked back into the village, spying on Robert and Victoria as they embraced. Robert told his sister he was "going nowhere" just before the camera revealed John watching them. With Mack's comments about John hating Robert, fans now fear John will target his brother.
One viewer said: "John... I don't like this ending stay away from Robert." Another wrote: "They made a huge point of pointing out that Robert is the only one John actually hates. Legit think John is gonna try to kill Robert now." A third added: "He's obviously going to try and kill Robert now." Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
