Emmerdale viewers are increasingly worried for Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) as her health takes a troubling turn. The character, who has been struggling with a hidden health condition and refusing to eat food she considers unhealthy, has now stopped taking medication prescribed for a persistent cough.
Gabby's health deteriorates after bronchitis diagnosis
On Monday's (September 28) episode, Gabby's condition worsened as she developed a persistent cough, suggesting her immune system was weakened. She returned to GP Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker), who recommended a course of antibiotics for bacterial bronchitis.
However, Gabby was soon seen coughing and gasping for breath while searching the internet for conspiracy theories about antibiotics. She chose to abandon the tablets, making it clear she had no intention of taking any medication.
Fans predict hospital trip for Gabby
Taking to X, one viewer wrote: "Prepares a hospital bed and an ambulance for Gabby as she may well be needing it in the near future. #Emmerdale." Another added: "Ooops! Gabby in #Emmerdale is going to end up with pneumonia or worse. Another one in the hospital..."
