Next week on Emmerdale, newcomer Dylan is rushed to hospital after a drug overdose, leaving Marlon Dingle distraught and guilty. Marlon had previously planted ketamine in Dylan's coat to frame him, hoping to keep him away from his daughter April Windsor. Dylan, who has been taking spice, agrees to cover up what really happened and go to rehab, but the truth may come out when April visits him.
April is still grieving the stillbirth of her baby daughter, whom she named Rebecca. The funeral for baby Rebecca takes place next week, but April initially refuses to attend or participate in scattering the ashes. Her father Marlon and friend Ross Barton remain concerned about her wellbeing.
Elsewhere, Steph Miligan seeks revenge over her grandfather Anthony Fox's disappearance, unaware that Anthony is actually her biological father and that her mother Ruby killed him. Steph finds a gun and plans to report her parents Caleb and Ruby to the police. Caleb enlists Ross to stop her, but Ross reveals Steph's intentions, potentially leading to the horrifying truth coming out.
In other storylines, Sarah Sugden is devastated after a doctor tells her that her positive pregnancy test was a false alarm. Given her shortened life expectancy, she fears she has missed her only chance to have a family. Meanwhile, Manpreet Sharma is being blackmailed over her mystery secret, and Dawn Taylor is tempted by Joe Tate while her husband Billy faces temptation of his own. Kim Tate receives a shock, and Tracy Robinson worries about her finances when Eric Pollard summons her for a chat.
