Emmerdale Character Axed After Two Decades as Cast Shake-Up

Noah Dingle, a character who has been part of Emmerdale for over two decades, is reportedly set to leave the ITV soap in a major cast shake-up. The 22-year-old character, played by actor Jack Downham since 2009, is considering moving abroad, according to upcoming spoilers.

Noah's Exit Plans Revealed

In next week's episodes, Noah confides in his stepfather Mackenzie Boyd about his plans to relocate overseas. He discusses applying for jobs abroad, which would mean permanently leaving the village. The spoilers strongly suggest Noah's departure, though ITV has not officially confirmed the actor's exit.

However, The Sun has reported that Jack Downham's exit is slated for later this year. A source told the publication: "Jack is such a lovely lad, and everyone adores him. He's been on the show since he was a young child so it's all he's ever known. He was told of the news last month and his axing has once again sent shockwaves through the cast and crew. Everyone is wondering who will be next."

Noah's Recent Storylines

Noah has had a relatively quiet period onscreen recently. His last major storyline involved being drugged by his brother Joe Tate last year, leading to a limo crash. He also experienced heartbreak following his split from Amelia Spencer, who subsequently left the village. Since then, he has only made sporadic appearances and was most recently accused by his uncle Caleb Miligan of theft at his depot.

Mackenzie's Explosive Scenes

Meanwhile, Mackenzie actor Lawrence Robb has hinted at explosive scenes for his character and Ross Barton next week. Mack launches an assault on Ross after discovering Ross' affair with Mack's wife Charity. Mack has now learned that baby Leyla is actually Charity and Ross' daughter. The majority of villagers believe Charity carried her granddaughter Sarah's baby for her after agreeing to act as her surrogate. However, a handful of residents have worked out the truth, and when Mack confronts Ross, it results in life-threatening scenes.

Emmerdale returns tomorrow at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
