Emmerdale and Corrie off air tonight for rugby

Emmerdale and Coronation Street have been taken off air this evening (Friday, November 6) amid further ITV schedule changes. The channel is set to air The Nations Championship from 7.15pm, with the match between Ireland and Argentina scheduled to kick-off at 8.10pm. As a result, Emmerdale and Coronation Street won't air this evening.

Return to regular programming

Fortunately, both shows will return to their scheduled programming on Monday, November 9, with Emmerdale set to air at 8pm followed by Corrie at 8.30pm. Viewers will also be able to tune into both episodes from 7am on YouTube and ITVX.

Emmerdale storyline developments

In Emmerdale, the Dingles await Samson's return, only to learn that he has assaulted Tom King (James Chase) and therefore won't be coming home. When it becomes clear that Cain (Jeff Hordley) put him up to it, heartbroken Sam (James Hooton) attacks him.

Elsewhere, Kev Barton (Chris Coghill) is offered a job cooking for Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and has to tell Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) he is leaving the café, while Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) holds Caleb Miligan's (William Ash) affair with Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) over his head.

Coronation Street special episode

In Corrie, there is a special episode with Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) at its heart. Debbie invites her closest friends round to help her make a photo book for Carl's (Jonathan Howard) 40th birthday. However, the night takes a turn as tensions rise between the women and heated confrontations ensue.

Fortunately, by the end of the evening, they manage to clear the air, but some of them are left with big decisions still to make.
