Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe have been announced as the new presenters of Strictly Come Dancing. The trio will take over hosting duties when the BBC dance competition returns this autumn for its 24th series, following the departure of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
Kate Phillips, the BBC's Chief Content Officer, said: “Emma, Johannes and Josh’s chemistry is undeniable. There’s been so much speculation and hype, so I’m relieved we can share the news with the public at last!” She added that in a Strictly first, three outstanding hosts had been chosen to take up the mantle.
Radebe has been a professional dancer on the show for the past seven series, while Willis has presented competition programmes including The Voice and Big Brother. Widdicombe, a comedian, took part in the 2024 Christmas special, which he described as his “career high point”. He said: “I am giddy with excitement, honoured and a little overawed to be given the chance to step into the biggest shoes in television … I’ll dust off the penguin costume.”
Radebe said: “This show has always stood for joy, heart and togetherness, and I feel deeply honoured to now help carry that magic forward. I’m ready – sequins, nerves and all ... please bear with me.” Willis added: “I can’t wait to spend my weekends with Josh and Jojo, the incredible dancers and the judges. Fingers crossed for a 10 from them!”
The appointment follows the surprise announcement that Daly and Winkleman were leaving the show. The pair had hosted since 2014 and both received MBEs in June 2025. Their final appearance was the 2025 Christmas Day special, after which Winkleman launched a new chatshow and Daly announced she was separating from her husband, Vernon Kay.
The change in presenting lineup comes after a turbulent period for Strictly, including a BBC investigation into alleged cocaine use by two stars, two arrests on suspicion of rape (one of which did not lead to charges), and a vote-rigging accusation from contestant Thomas Skinner, which the BBC denies.
