Emily in Paris Season 5: Fans Question Camille's Absence as Star Exits
Emily in Paris Season 5: Camille's Absence Explained

The return of Emily in Paris for its fifth season on Netflix has been met with a mix of excitement and bewilderment by fans, as one of the show's central figures was conspicuously absent from all ten new episodes.

Where is Camille in Season Five?

From the very beginning of the hit rom-com drama, Camille deLalisse, portrayed by actress Camille Razat, was a pivotal character. She formed a crucial part of the love triangle with Emily (Lily Collins) and chef Gabriel (Lucas Bravo). Her sudden disappearance from the latest season, which debuted on 20 December 2025, has sparked widespread speculation about her fate and potential return.

Camille's storyline appeared to reach a natural conclusion in season four. After calling off her wedding to Gabriel, she discovered she was pregnant, only to later find out it was a false positive. She initially kept this secret, hoping to keep Gabriel in her life. Simultaneously, she navigated a budding relationship with artist Sofia, which ultimately faltered due to her lingering feelings for her ex-fiancé.

A Natural End and New Beginnings

After revealing the truth about her pregnancy, the entire ordeal led Camille to realise her deep desire for a family. This prompted her to announce plans to adopt a baby on her own. Season four concluded with her moving into a new flat, complete with a nursery, seemingly leaving her tumultuous past with Emily and Gabriel behind.

However, Razat herself has confirmed that this departure is more than just a plot point. Taking to Instagram, the 31-year-old actress revealed her decision to step away from the series. "After an incredible journey, I've made the decision to step away from Emily in Paris," she wrote. She expressed gratitude to the creators and Netflix, noting the door was left open for a return, but firmly stated: "This character has meant a lot to me, and I feel that her storyline has naturally come to an end."

What's Next for Camille Razat?

Razat is not stepping back from the spotlight. She has multiple new ventures lined up. She has wrapped filming on Nero The Assassin for Netflix and The Lost Station Girls for Disney+. Furthermore, the actress has launched her own production company, Tazar Production, which will focus on developing music videos and short films, and has already begun work on a feature film.

While Camille deLalisse's future in the Emily in Paris world remains uncertain, Razat's career is clearly moving in exciting new directions. For now, fans can stream all seasons, including the latest without Camille, exclusively on Netflix.
