An 'addictive' rural drama filmed in a breathtaking Cornish village is now available to stream. British TV series 'Delicious', written by Dan Sefton and directed by Clare Kilner and John Hardwick, centres on two women locked in conflict after being betrayed by the same man and by one another.
Set in Cornwall, the show follows Cornish chef Gina, played by Dawn French, whose world turns upside down when she discovers her ex-husband's secret life. Loyalties are questioned as she reevaluates her relationships, with further drama, love, heartbreak and deception brought to light within the community. A shocking twist at the end of the first episode leaves Gina and her rival Sam, portrayed by 'Silent Witness' star Emilia Fox, facing devastating consequences.
The cast also includes Tanya Reynolds, Ruairí O'Connor, Iain Glen, Sheila Hancock, Risteárd Cooper, Franco Nero, Aaron Anthony, Rhashan Stone, and Vincent Regan. Filmed predominantly in South East Cornwall, Pentillie Castle features as Leo's Penrose Hotel, with interior scenes shot at Port Eliot and Boconnoc. The village of Calstock and its viaduct served as the setting for village sequences and local pub scenes.
'Delicious' ran for three series between 2017 and 2019. All 12 episodes are currently available to stream on Sky One via NOW. Fans have praised the drama online, with one IMDb user writing: 'Each actor wrapped their part in love. The talent of Dawn French has found a nest, a bespoke fit.' Another added: 'What a treat for both the eyes and the heart.'
