Walford Waves Goodbye to Junior Knight
In a poignant turn of events for the long-running BBC serial, Micah Balfour has officially departed EastEnders, with his final scenes as Junior Knight airing on 13th November 2025. The actor's exit comes just eighteen months after his character first arrived on the Square as the estranged son of George Knight.
A Heartfelt Departure for Dubai
Viewers witnessed emotional farewells as Junior said his goodbyes to ex-girlfriend Cindy and his sisters, Anna and Gina. In a touching gesture, he gifted his prized car to his uncle, Kojo. Before leaving, he also delivered a stern warning to his father, George, urging him to stay away from Nicola Mitchell. The character's storyline concluded with him departing Walford to begin a new life in Dubai.
A BBC spokesperson confirmed the departure to The Mirror, stating: "We can confirm Micah will be leaving EastEnders later this year, we wish him all the best for the future." Sources indicate that the decision was made not to renew Balfour's contract, though the door has been left open for a potential return.
More Exits Loom on the Horizon
Balfour's departure is not an isolated event. It has been revealed that Molly Rainford, who plays his on-screen sister Anna Knight, is also set to leave the soap. A source explained that this coincides with new boss Ben Wadey making sweeping changes and Rainford's own desire to pursue other challenges.
"She’s hugely talented and wants to spread her wings and see what else is out there for her," the source added, noting the decision was mutual. When Junior was introduced in 2024, then-executive producer Chris Clenshaw hinted at hidden depths, teasing that "there is more to Junior than meets the eye," a mystery that now concludes with his move overseas.
