Micah Balfour has departed EastEnders, with his final scenes airing tonight. The actor played Junior Knight, the estranged son of George Knight, for 18 months.
In emotional scenes, Junior said goodbye to ex-partner Cindy and his sisters Anna and Gina. He also gave his prized car to his uncle Kojo and warned his father to stay away from Nicola Mitchell before heading off to start a new life in Dubai.
A BBC spokesperson previously confirmed the departure, stating they wish Micah all the best for the future. Upon his casting, then-executive producer Chris Clenshaw noted that Junior would bring drama to the Square.
Micah’s exit comes ahead of Anna Knight’s departure, played by Molly Rainford. New boss Ben Wadey is making sweeping changes, and it was mutually agreed that Anna should leave Walford.
Sources said bosses decided not to renew Micah’s contract, and he filmed his final scenes last month. The door has been left open for a potential return.
